Hello Mayflower friends!
I´m almost halfway through my year of service with the Young Adults in Global Mission Program, and although I have definitely experienced as many challenges as triumphs, I would never take back my decision to commit to this opportunity to serve, learn, receive, and grow. I truly believe that, like the card said that my dad sent me but regrettably never arrived, I am ¨right where I need to be doing exactly what I need to be doing.`` In the midst of the storms of homesickness, urban annoyances, and cultural barriers, God has been a calming and steady presence in my life, just like Jesus was for the disciples on their boat during the storm on the Sea of Galilee (Matthew 8:24-26)
With that in mind, I really encourage any Mayflower youth who are interested to apply for similar faith-based service opportunities! The application deadlines are coming up, so I urge you to consider whether any of these programs might be a good fit for you!
One of them is the UCC Young Adult Service Communities program, which I mentioned in an earlier blog post. Here is the link to the web page, which includes part 1 of the application, due March 15th (they must have extended the deadline- it was originally February 15th):

The application for Young Adults in Global Mission is due on February 15th!! I apologize for not informing you of this sooner. Here´s the link for that:

In other news, you can expect to read a post about Hannah Campbell´s experience with Young Adults Service Communities sometime in the next month! We apologize for the delay- Hannah has had a very busy year working on her double masters in Divinity and Social Work at the University of Chicago!
Until then,
Chau!
Love, Lisa
P.S. Remember that you can read more specifics about what I´ve been doing and see photos on my other blog: http://www.lisarawlinsargentina.blogspot.com.ar/
